Adapt or Die

Darwin shared his concept of “survival of the fittest,”and in his time, maybe that was the premise to life. I would say, that to be open, curious and adaptable you can bring optimal traits to staying fit. Times have indeed changed from Darwin’s era. How can you as a body evolve? What steps can you take, how does movement affect your overall well being?

So much to learn as this year comes to a close. With an Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lesson, are you continually learning how to adapt to the movements. These are the means to awaken how you listen, how to create a quality of ease and comfort instead of pushing into resistance to survive something. With lessons you can learn better how to adapt to something new, slow it down, pause to notice what’s shifting. Give it a moment to reflect on felt sensations, your breathing, your contact with the floor and from this experience you will begin to find your skill of having greater ease within you. Then you will have a pathway to follow to find that sense of ease again and again. It’s more than just surviving, it’s awakening to how in the moment you begin to imagine options, adapt to what’s around you in that moment and create an improved experience within.

As we bring 2022 to a close, there’s lots to learn from, remember, forgive but never forget. So I hope you will remember there are 4 more ATM classes I welcome you to join me on the floor. Remember what works, apply ways to adapt and shift into a comfortable space. I’ll see you on the floor this week to celebrate the close of a year that gave us lots to learn.

“What you truly learn best will appear to you later as your own discovery.” Moshe Feldenkrais

We are now on the other side of the Winter Solstice, moving towards longer sunnier days with great hope for more positive times. Remember, when you move better – and you will with quiet, easy and gentle movement explorations, you will certainly improve and feel better in every aspect of your life!

This is my wish for you all,

Warmest,

Peggi
