Tools for Learning
The most important thing to remember is that learning is a process, and it includes making errors. Be in that space to accept making mistakes from which you learn. Maybe by slowing things down, the mistakes are small and less potentially destructive. It’s how you process the information that makes the difference in moving forward, or are they holding you back with negative thoughts?
Pause for a moment and reflect on what your thoughts are right now. Are they positive, negative or neutral? Whatever they are, think and imagine if that thought were to dictate your future, would you consider shifting your thought to something else? Your thoughts become your beliefs, they inform your actions and create your destiny. Continue to create the ability to improve how to shift to something more productive and lead you forward. Move forward, finding other ways to optimize your daily routines.
Reduce the effort in doing that is linked with trying. Remember the phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Be in the space of exploring and finding connections. It is best to remember that fatigue is the adversary of learning. For any movement or action to be healthy, efficient, and well-organized, the force travels through your skeleton instead of being absorbed within the musculature. Muscles are the pulley system that move the skeleton, and your intelligent brain directs, like a conductor, to move you forward with ease and comfort. Tap in frequently to ask yourself, What am I learning, and is it serving me well?
To overcome challenges, you need to develop skills, honing and refining specific abilities that become gifts, enhancing the quality of your life. That’s why I continue to share, instead of rehabilitating to an older pattern, begin with the mindset of ‘re-abiitating’ so you continue to find more efficient ways of being instead of the older hard-wired conditioned patterns called your habits. Keep all of them and begin to recognize when a pattern is productive or destructive to your improvement.
I invite you to reach out for my Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® class links as well as scheduling private sessions whether live in person or virtual sessions that are created specifically for your needs. My ATM classes are ET: Tuesdays at 3, Wednesdays at 1:30, Fridays at 3 and Saturdays at noon so hope you can join for personalized attention to compare differences to discern where you sense and feel benefit to play with. You can also schedule a live ATM in my studio to enhance this process to explore on your own at home.
“The lessons are designed to improve ability, that is, to expand the boundaries of the possible, to turn the impossible into the possible, the difficult into the easy, and the easy into the pleasant. For only those activities that are easy and pleasant will become part of a person’s habitual life and will serve them at all times. The aim is a body that is organized to move with minimum effort & maximum efficiency, not through muscular strength but though increased consciousness of how it works.” – Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time and attention and wherever you are, enjoy the birth of Spring.
Warmest,
Peggi
