The real glory that empowers us!
The real glory that empowers us!
Often we think of niceties, the little pleasant things in life, but the real glory could be when you had an accident, an incident occurred that tripped or derailed you and you found a way to get back up and continue to move forward! That’s the real essence of glory, an awakening of how potent and capable your are!
So many times a student has shared this amazing experience; either falling or nearly falling down they were able to avert the fall or did fall but without thinking were able to fall in such a way they didn’t get hurt. They were able, with a pause to organize themselves, get back up. Now that’s the true glory of your ability – through your learning and creating comparisons, you can wire within yourself options and patterns to enable your mind and body. At those moments you don’t need to think about it, because through playful explorations you have been wiring in these more optimal patterns. When you least expected a mishap, some people get knocked down and can’t rebound, but you did! What’s the difference, what was it that you created for yourself that enabled this potential to awaken when you needed to find another option to move forward.
The proof is in the pudding as they say, and I can share as we gently explore Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lessons, we find ourselves. What does that mean? We have a structure and that’s called our skeleton, a system of levers which are the bones, and the muscles are the tension that pull the bones and joints to mobilize you to move. First, in fact, it’s your brain and thoughts that generate this system called our musculoskeletal system to activate and move you about. Is it as efficient as can be, is there more to explore and learn to sense and feel that effortlessness where everything is more balanced. When the timing of your coordination is really efficient, it’s called organic, easy and elegant! You can feel it when you observe another be it an athlete, performer, and there is a pathway to create this sense of ease within called The Feldenkrais Method®.
“Learning is turning darkness, which is the absence of light, into light. Learning is creation. It is making something out of nothing. Learning grows until it dawns on you.” – Moshe Feldenkrais
I hope you will come join me for classes this week to learn for yourself what’s possible and how simple it is to awaken to this sense of ease instead of resistance.
See you on the floor for 3 afternoon classes this week!
Warmest,
Peggi
