The Paradox of Learning
The Paradox of Learning
What are the conditions for learning? First we have to create the conditions in order for learning to awaken. For me and others as we share our thoughts, there is a preference for a non-judgmental atmosphere where there is neither right or wrong. Rather we seek alternate ways to compare, to find preferences as well as awaken to newer ideas. We respect your preferences while developing skills to move beyond your known ways. Awakening other possibilities. When there is communication, little wake up calls, learning becomes simpler. Sharing with a kindness opens the door to learning.
Learning is a process. Doing is only the extension of what you already have within your hard wired patterning. When we can take the time to begin to think, imagine what it is that is asked, this is a skill we are honing that enables more possibilities and choices outside of our known. Taking the time to ponder an idea is more slow thinking that allows more to come to the surface whereas fast thinking, these patterns are already wired into our nervous systems. This is the language of the learning.
When we learn something new or maybe remember something we overlooked again, we begin to develop more choices, but is there a desire to change something or someone? Maybe wanting to teach another something to change them or feel different is a desire. Offer new and different perspectives allows another to feel heard, understood, good enough and allowing you to be you while enticing other possibilities for a fresh, improved outcome.
“What I’m after isn’t flexible bodies, but flexible brains. What I’m after is to restore each person to their human dignity.” – Moshe Feldenkrais
I am back from a magnificent learning, growing an appreciation with the Ann Arbor I Feldenkrais Training program. More ideas to share, continuing the journey of finding new possibilities with ease, comfort to move forward while remaining the same with little ways to include more of you with freedom to play in movement. I am offering 3 ATM classes this week. Hope you will join me on the floor. And for those that the timing for a live class might conflict with your daily schedule, you can also receive the audio files of classes at a minimal cost to download and play with at your own time, any time. Reach out if you would like to receive the weekly class links.
Hope to see you on the floor this week!
Warmest,
Peggi
