A Daily Practice
A Daily Practice
In order to improve, it is required that you commit yourself to a daily practice to allow something new to assimilate an integrate. And you must be willing to fail. No one can be good at everything, there is a process of improving skills to find your way. This is another paradox of learning, these mistakes are there to help you learn your craft. Overall there can be some sorrow, but also chosing to live in joy by following your passion. This is something that drives you forward even when you feel distracted or frustrated. Find this gentle way to move forward in easy, gentle explorations.
Many years ago I was introduced to The Feldenkrais Method® and I realize now it wasn’t by chance. I was failing in finding a solution to what was ailing me. I never gave up trying to find a solution and I was fortunate enough to find a first generation student who trained with Moshe Feldenkrais to receive my first hands on session (Functional Integration/FI®). From that profound experience, I found a new calling. I have never looked back at this pathway that continues to lead me forward into living my life with joy.
Life continues to throw us curve balls, and when these experiences happen, I remind myself to find another way to come at the problem with a different set of ideas. Being in the unknown is disquieting for many, holding onto old patterns is the easiest avenue. However, being able to experience where you are in time and space helps to reorganize and find another opening into a different pathway, a new perspective.
“There are two kinds of suffering. There is the suffering you run away from which follows you everywhere. And there is the suffering you face directly, and so become free.” Ajahn Chah
There are 4 afternoon ATM lessons this week to share with you. So many possibilities in finding your pathway to sense, feel, think and move with greater ease and comfort. A paradox of learning, when you strive and work hard to achieve something, you too often are working against yourself, using too much effort, force and determination to make something happen. First find where you are in your skin, in your surroundings. What motivates you and how are you approaching this learning?
I hope you will join me on the screen for a live session or receive the audio file(s) to download and explore when the timing is best for you. If you are not currently receiving the weekly links for class, simply reach out and I’ll add you to the mailing so you have the links. A drop in class with corresponding audio file is only $15 as well as 2 different monthly memberships where you can receive all the audio files for your personal, daily practice. In addition, I see clients and students in my studio live for hands on sessions as well as one on one virtual sessions. All this to enable finding the results you’re looking for with an easier, kinder approach than just pushing into more resistance.
Hope to see you soon.
Warmest,
Peggi
