Synergistic Relationships
The Feldenkrais Method® is known for it’s efficient way of enhancing and improving how we live. Muscles work in synergy with the whole body to move the skeleton for a more optimal, organic way of functioning. The result of this relationship of coordination, working together, is greater than work achieved only when focusing on an individual part. It is the coordinating with all of our parts, listening to our breathing and the timing of the actions that create a more wholesome human biology and nervous system. Learning how to listen non-judgmentally and explore with curiosity to find other pathways enables living in a beneficial synergistic relationship.

Direct your attention to the quality of how explore without feeling resistance. Learning how this amazing body with all it’s moveable parts enables an awareness of not only the muscles we use to do something, but to the relationships between our brain that directs our muscles to activate. When the force is directed through the bones, this facilitates progress to function more optimally. When the force is misdirected and bumps around our structure, this develops lots of wear and tear and deterioration of our tissues. It all starts with an intention to do something, then our brain directs the muscles what to do. When there is trauma, or any event that interferes with how we function, this process of slowing down what we do, offers us another way to create other pathways, finding more efficient ones from what we learned early in our formative years.
The truly important learning is to be able to do the thing you already know in another way. The more ways you have to do the things you know, the freer is your choice. And the freer your choice, the more you’re a human being. – Dr Moshe Feldenkrais
