Following Your Internal Sensations
Being true to yourself, following your internal sensations
You can’t go wrong when you begin to listen to your subtle yet significant internal sensations. Even when a mistake is made, we’re not perfect, and these errors are just another way to pause, think about what might have been another choice and continue forward. These are not set-backs they are learning experiences.
Have you noticed when someone says something cannot be done. It might be their limiting belief and yet, when they put out this judgement, they are in fact interrupting those who are actually doing what they believe is possible. You can hold onto a belief, wired into your nervous system a long time ago. You can pause, listen to what limits you and begin to think outside of the box to find another possibility.
It’s not only possible, it opens up other perspectives as to how to live your life to the fullest. You have choices, and that’s what I teach with The Feldenkrais Method®, a way to pause, think about other possibilities to move beyond limitations. In order to do this, you need to be willing to let go of holding onto the old and welcome the new.
Holding on is just another form of contraction, pulling you away from moving forward. Take your time, little bits of movements to embrace something new and notice what that offers you.
While I am away, working in the Ann Arbor I Feldenkrais Training program, I welcome you to visit my website and select so many free offerings of Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lessons to explore on your own. Select any lesson, explore as long as your curiosity awakens your interest. Remember you can always come back to a lesson or select another to explore, learning on your own, welcoming comparisons and finding options that you might not have thought about before.
“A basic condition for Harmonious coordination is complete freedom from either self-compulsion or compulsion from others.” MF
I’ll send another newsletter to update my return to weekly ATM and live Functional Integration lessons.
Enjoy the holiday!
Warmest,
