Create Pathways Forward
On the heels of my return from hiking in Utah, these thoughts awoke within me as I share them with you now.
May the air you breathe nourish and calm you,
May you remember to be present in each moment, feeling the steadiness of your feet on the ground,
May you feel connected to the love that is all around you, in whatever form it takes,
May you swim effortlessly in the river of life as it flows through every season.
The air in the Utah mountains was restorative, fresh, crisp, and breathtaking, so I tapped into some breathing techniques; as breathing efficiently was paramount while hiking at a different and much higher elevation. It was crucial to be present in each moment and to feel where I was grounded.
Then, imagine, before trusting, leaping, or taking the next step, ascending upwards to the top. I felt totally connected to this beautiful place, receiving all the gifts it offered in every form of nature, from the sky above to the depths below, and feeling at peace in this serene place, which helped balance and let go of anything less than positive.
Once home and returning to my practice, it was a pleasure to continue focusing on my passion that gives me so much in return. The changing autumn weather, hiking with my labs again in the woods, and feeling the love of my pups and nature were present.
Find a way to bring those things that bring you joy, make you feel passionate, and propel you forward. If you feel at a loss here, begin to imagine what this sense of passion, joy, abandonment feels like, or whatever it is that speaks to you.
Find your pathway forward, and I hope that together we can share, grow, and learn from each other how to continue moving forward, especially when the path forward is unknown, seems complicated, and you notice some fear. Pause, listen to your breathing, as it will be the first indication of holding that keeps you from moving forward. Remember, sometimes we actually have to go back to find another pathway that leads forward. It’s all a journey, your dance of life.
