Simple practices make a huge difference: consistency in trying new things, exploring where subtle improvements begin to awaken, and finding a new pathway forward. Here, I am discussing the practice of not subtracting but adding to your growth and learning. Begin the practice of exploring micro-movements of physical connection. In the morning, gentle movements to awaken your nervous system and help you rise and shine; in the evening, gently support and slow down to allow for improved restorative sleep.
My suggestion is to explore a gentle Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lesson, read something soothing, and ask questions, so you become more able to begin this process of self-inquiry. Practice empowering your state to take an action that feels congruent so eventually a habitual pattern will take over. This is another form of learning. Be willing to share your thoughts to help become more adept at finding your own answers in time.
Connecting with others, as we are social beings, is necessary. Give someone a hug or kiss, reach out with a call to inquire how a friend is doing. While I also encourage you to turn inwards and trust yourself, recognize your intelligent brain will begin to offer options when you ask better questions. Then you explore and notice what you decide to vary and add into your daily practice.
“We are all apprentices in a craft, where no one becomes a master.” – Ernest Hemingway
Making connections with consistency to maintain these patterns takes commitment and work. It’s worth it, as the results offer more emotional resilience that enables you to feel a boost mentally, physically, and in all aspects of your life.
Did you know that your heartbeat syncs with every movement you make in your entire life? Rarely are we aware enough to notice how our moods affect our state of being. Notice when you feel positive or dive into negative thoughts that generate other types of feelings. How does this affect your emotional state, and how you sense yourself? Listen to your breathing; it will be the first indicator of holding and contractions. This is also another way to practice consistency.
“Every thought a person dwells upon, whether he expresses it or not, either damages or improves his life.” – Lucy Mallory
Listen to the sensations of a reaction, and how this makes you feel, compared to responses that are often softer and without judgment. When we strengthen one aspect of our being, it exponentially spreads and improves how we know ourselves, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. George Gurdjieff, an Armenian philosopher, among other gifts, shared his belief in the late 1800s about human potential. He spoke of the “4th way,” describing knowing yourself, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. When one aspect of you awakens and responds positively, it nourishes and changes your ability to refocus, make new connections, and begin an inner attuning with self-care.
How have you found consistency in your life? What sort of patterns can you recognize that get you through your day? Click reply and share your thoughts with me.

I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time and attention, and look forward to making connections.
