Asking Questions

Asking Questions!

Questions can open new doors, different perceptions and different ways to approach a problem. Too often we ruminate on the same narrative, rewiring that reaction into our Nervous Systems so that we really aren’t asking any new questions as to what is it that isn’t changing and if I do want a shift, what would that be like. When we can become more specific in asking questions, instead of presuming we know, we serve all of us in a better, more potent way than when we suspect we know exactly what is happening or from a memory we have held onto from our past experiences.

Feel the difference between Yes and No! Can you sense within you there is a real physical experience as Yes opens us to move forward while a NO is resistant and pulls us away from engaging.

Ask more questions and wait instead of demanding an immediate answer. It’s in the pauses we can find new possibilities, shifting how we think, feel, move and take action. I read a poem from E.E. Cummings this past week and it reminded me of all we have to be grateful for in this turbulent world. If we are expecting it to be perfect, we will be sorely disappointed while if we pause, wait in silence to allow another way of awakening to something outside our known, we might find solutions to consider and a freedom where we find more choices to guide us out of the quandary many of us find in our daily lives as we are traversing an era of Covid and a turbulent war initiated by Putin.

“I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.”

Spring has sprung, all the trees in our forest have that brilliant chartreuse green that indicates rebirth, a renewal of life so whatever the assaults, injuries and events of our daily life, might we pause, reflect on what is good, what we would prefer and find solutions, baby steps to moving forward. After all, we see the possibilities as Spring brings the rebirth of life, the foxes are tending to their kits, the birds and all of nature is awakening and welcoming what this season has to offer. They don’t complain it’s not as it was, it’s as it is and they take it with a beauty to learn from.
