Life Can Be Transforming
Life Can Be Transforming
Taking time to recognize your current beliefs is the first hurdle. Both operate through perceptions, accepted beliefs, and confirmed biases, all of which are open to change. How often do you ask yourself questions about shifting and doing something outside your comfort zone? Too frequently, people share their beliefs that tell what they can’t do instead of what gets them interested and excited. When they do become enthused, how often do they derail this hopeful state with their known perceptions and beliefs about what is possible? Did you realize that in any communication, it’s not what is said but, too often, what is not said that lies beneath their intention? Listen to what is not said but shows itself in their body language; it’s there, and recognizing what is not said but is felt is so important.
“Don’t ever give up on life. Life can be so beautiful, especially after you’ve spent a lot of time with it.”– Yoko Ono
I share this quote from Yoko Ono, who has lived through great adversity and yet continues to embody hope to grow and move forward. Each of us has experienced disappointment in our own lives, and yet we can persevere and find other options as we grow and move forward. This was also a message from Dr. Feldenkrais, who lived through so many atrocities and yet never gave up and found ways to compare and shift perceptions for the better.
So, at this time of the year’s closing holidays, ready to embark on a new year, hopeful for improvement and the strength to persevere and keep moving forward, no one said it would be easy. Still, I recommend it’s worth the time and effort to pause, rethink how we do what we do, and explore more possibilities. I do, and from doing, I compare and reflect on whether there’s another way that might be more advantageous for all. When I can think of the whole and not just myself, this becomes a global thought for improving the current state of affairs. Ignoring doesn’t do anything but keep one in the dark. Take in little bits of information that help you transform your life instead of waiting for someone or something to fix what’s not working for you. You hold the power and the ability to do, take time to reflect on what’s really important, and move forward from there.
I invite you to join me in my small mentoring Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® classes to experience these subtle shifts that are possible. Tapping into the lessons daily is the way to begin to rewire yourself for improvement. You are always in the driver’s seat to explore, rest, pause, take time out, and come back to find how to transform yourself to whatever you think, feel, and believe would make you and the world a better place.
“The aim is to create conditions under which learning takes place, and in which a person feels free!” “The lessons are designed to improve ability, that is, to expand the boundaries of the possible, to turn the impossible into the possible, the difficult into the easy, and the easy into the pleasant. For only those activities that are easy and pleasant will become part of a person’s habitual life and will serve them at all times.” – Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
I hope you have all had a lovely Thanksgiving in whatever way supported you the most. As we approach the closing holidays of the year and move into the new year, I wish you all the best with strength and resilience to keep going. “Never, never give up.” Just find other ways to move forward to transform your life for the better. After all, if nothing is perfect, then think of a little thing that, if it got easier, it could be the key to making life better.
I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time and attention this week, and I look forward to connecting with you when the timing is right.
Warmest,
Peggi
