How, What & When
How, What & When
These are valid questions, often asked when you get curious about something unfamiliar. I gather we’re all interested to learn if our inquiry into something unknown will help us. What might happen? How is it going to happen? When will I know for sure it addressed my needs?
Any process of learning takes some time to awaken to the subtleties of change. These valid questions find answers the more you investigate and become curious about getting results. In this case, reading here, it can be about The Feldenkrais Method®, how will it help me? This could be any concern where we’re seeking more information to aid us in making a choice that’s not a familiar pathway.
What’s going to happen, how will it play out, and when will I know for sure the outcome I’m hoping for has occurred? Not all questions can be answered absolutely regarding a learning process. We simply have to wait and see how things evolve. There are so many factors and circumstances based on the situation that affect an outcome, but rarely is that exactly the way things happen.
How to be open and allow. During your first Functional Integration (FI)® hands-on session, I can produce positive results. The more powerful question to ask is, how can I allow this to continue? How do I build on the improved sensations compared to being stuck with the holding of muscular contractions?
Doing thorough research is important, or you can have an experience and allow that to inform you. It helps to know for yourself some of what to expect, and still, there’s always the potential for the unexpected. How to remain in a positive, open space to allow what you are hoping to happen. What is it you really want, and then allow your attention to open new doors.
“The aim is to create conditions under which learning takes place, and in which a person feels free!” Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
The only thing constant in life is change, so take one day at a time. Give time to pause and listen to what you feel within. A slower pathway is a response compared to a reaction. Be constant to live and learn.
“To learn we need time, attention, and discrimination; to discriminate we must sense. This means that in order to learn we must sharpen our powers of sensing, and if we try and do most things by sheer force of will we shall achieve precisely the opposite of what we need.” Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
I will be on the road from July 12-20 and will return to my practice July 21st. I offer 3 afternoon ATM lessons this week so hope you will join me for living, learning and finding more options and possibilities to continue your journey forward.
I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time and attention this week, and look forward to connecting with you when the timing is right. As for me, it’s always the right time to explore gentle movements with awareness to awaken more possibilities and freedom.
Warmest,
Peggi
