Evolving Compared to Stagnation

Evolving Compared to Stagnation

From Nature and Human Behavior research, we recognize that the human brain keeps evolving with new information. We can build and retain sequences of instructions to create an “open-mindedness” in our learning. This is to enhance and make more optimal choices than the hard-wired conditioning molded into our nervous system that, without comparisons, often limits us.

Chunking this process down into subsets is a process. As long as there is curiosity, you can develop a way to compare. This process allows for an open-ended way to learn about choices and create new and improved ways of being. Create new bridges to grow by tuning in, pausing to compare, listen to your breathing as any confusion creates a moment of contraction.  Simply notice and continue to evolve!

“In my lessons, the student learns to listen to the instructions while carrying out an exercise and make the necessary adjustments without stopping the movement. In this way, he learns to act while he thinks and thinks while he acts.” – Moshe Feldenkrais, Awareness Through Movement book, pg 160

Listen to how you transition to rest. Notice what position you chose, and listen to how you do this. There are choices here to consider. Can you pay soft attention to how you breathe in action? Might there have been any holding of your breath doing this familiar movement? Simply refining your listening to how you activate is the beginning of your process of learning how to make your life easier, even when it’s not so easy. Build upon the little improvements you begin to notice. Is it easier and more optimal for them to become “sticky” or dependable as another habit, sense, and feel? Each of us has a way of processing when curiosity for improvement is essential.

“Do the simplest movement you can do. Through awareness, we can learn to move with astonishing lightness and freedom at almost any age.” – Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais

You, like me I’m sure, are interested in making life easier, not harder. I invite you to join me, whether for an Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® class, Functional Integration (FI)® session or a virtual Guided Learning session to continue evolving through a pathway of choice, ease and comfort. Remember, the story you tell yourself is the most important thing. It’s about finding your way to do it!

I hope I’ve earned the privilege of your time and attention this week, and I look forward to your reaching out. I’m here for any that are interested in finding your greatness because greatness isn’t born, it’s developed. It’s all about evolving, I hope we can enjoy this process together.

Warmest,

Peggi
