Intentional Actions and How it Works in Creating Results

I would suggest we all have desires of where we’d like to improve, learn and accomplish certain goals. The question becomes, how do we do this? First notice what it is you want to learn and then with deliberate, intentional practice, begin the work. This process is best when you tap into the learning on a regular basic so that you continue to wire in more beneficial ways that awaken improvement. Whatever it is you have a desire to improve, whether there is a concern with your physical as well as mental well being, as they’re connected, a sport or activity you desire to learn an to increase efficiency, or a job or career you would like to advance in; start first with your focus and create as much specificity to what you want. Can you use your sensory skills to see this, hear this, feel this? Then what would be the first steps to take an action to practice on a daily basis as these are your building blocks. You are making a commitment to yourself so, set an outline of what you’d like to attend to and keep this list small enough so it’s attainable. Create one outcome to practice with your intention of finding more ease that awakens your attention as to how you are exploring. maybe listen to how you are breathing could be a first step in this direction. Continue to build from the foundation up to advance more. Whether this is at your work or career, play, hobby or something you’ve pondered for a while but have yet to take any action. What keeps you from doing this for yourself? Is there self talk that retards doing instead of taking an action of what you want? Make the commitment to yourself and just do it. It’s that simple, why delay creating the results you desire.

It starts with making a decision, this begins the process. Attend to this deliberately, on a regular schedule, making a commitment to yourself for learning how to improve. How would you recognize your progress? What would you need to see, hear, sense, feel to know you are on the right track? You will begin to immediately notice advancement. Even when at times we sense a set back, continue to pause, rest and start again with maybe another action to wire in that could help awaken what was missing when we sensed a set back. Any set back can be an indication of pushing too much into achieving an outcome and not allowing the time to welcome the newer information to sink in. It’s just like baking with yeast, you need to set the best environment for the yeast to rise without rushing or hurrying this process as that will only result in the opposite of what you intend. Through out your process, maintain your attention, your awareness with pauses to rest and re-set your focus as we do when exploring any of the approaches with The Feldenkrais Method®.

Let’s say you are interested in improving your ability to come to stand or maybe to bend, lower down to come to rest on the floor as we do in Awareness Through Movement (ATM)® lessons. How many different ideas of this function, this process of how you would begin to organize yourself can you think of? What are the ways most familiar to you and then, might you think, dream of other ways less familiar to your habitual way? All of this is creating more specificity in the how while helping to clarify the idea. Is the image clear that you can imagine the action of what you do, how you would breath, what would it feel like, look like, sound like… This is learning more how to clarify your intention and move it into action so that you immediately begin to create the results you’re looking for.

“…the sign of an organized cortex: that never do you move one movement without the rest of the body being, doing something to help to perform the movement. That’s the object of being an organism. It’s an organic movement and not a coercive, self-destructive movement.” – Dr Moshe Feldenkrais

I welcome you all to reach out and share your interests and curiosity as to how you want to accomplish a deliberate, intentional practice as I explore this daily. I invite your inquiry whether to chat as a free consult, come to an ATM lesson or explore a private session whether live hands on, Functional Integrations (FI)® or virtual session created just for your needs and intention. All you need do is take an action with your best intention to move forward.

I hope I have earned the privilege of your attention, interest and curiosity today. Thank you for begin here and here’s a wish to you all to turn your attention to the sunny side of life where there is respect, honor and integrity for all life and improvement for all.

Warmest,

Peggi
